Annual celebration of Black History with many free events across all London boroughs.

There's too many to list, although we'll try feature the highlights.  The official Black History Month Website has most events listed and maany Local Authorities publish a list of events, here's where to find them.

Camden: Lots of events including an Exhibition of Black Comic Superheroes at Swiss Cottage Library and a Black History Film Day at the British Museum.

Lambeth: Download here (PDF) - Spend the evening with Bonnie Greer at Brixton Library or meet the Geezer Girls in West Norwood.

Brent: Download Here (PDF) - Meet Floella Benjamin!

Newham: Several events, can't guarantee the general freeness because the Council don't tell us, but you can learn the Untold Story of Bob Marley on the 19th.

Hackney: Events are being held in the borough's libaries and Hackney Musuem.

(enough highlights, but keep checking back, we'll be updating this page - ed)

Westminster: Download here (PDF) or check out the highlights.

Southwark: Download here (PDF) or check out the highlights.

Islington: A little confusing, but go here and you should find some events.

Wandsworth: Download here (PDF)

Barking and Dagenham: Couldn't find any listings, but here's a press release.

Tower Hamlets: Have one of the better Council run websites with listings available in PDF and html format.

Lewisham: Have one of the worst Council run websites and that takes some doing.  Their Black History Month event pages aren't that bad however.

Greenwich: Events are listed here.

Haringey: Download here (PDF)

Waltham Forest: Events listed here

And that's it for now, for other Outer Boroughs we suggest using the official site or google.

Please feel free to register and post details of any individual events which aren't in the listings.
