Description

- Hi everyone prepare yourselves for the eleventh London photography meetup taking place at the London Wetlands Centre where we will get a chance to walk our way through picturesque surroundings, photographing exotic birds in their beautiful habitats.

Date: 12th July 2009 (Sunday)
Venue: London Wetlands Centre (MEET OUTSIDE THE FRONT ENTRANCE)
Time: 11am

I will organise to get us in with a group discount, so for adults its: £7.95 and children £4.45 (4-16 years)

Easiest way to get there is:
Take the tube to Hammersmith (the Piccadilly and District & Circle Lines).
From there its a short ride on the number 283 Duck bus, direct to the centre from Hammersmith bus station stand K(This is at street level not the stands above the tube station).

Rough Itinerary:

11am - Arrive at the centre.
First we will Visit the observatory, enjoy a tour discovering water birds from across the globe and learn how the centre was created. Some of the created world wetlands include New Zealand, Hawaii and Australia (get your zoom lenses out)
Then its off to the wildside for an area of lagoons and reed beds that is home to wild resident and migratory birds.

1pm - Lunch

2pm - Explore the reserve and discover the birds and other wetland wildlife that have made this their home. We will then visit our Peacock tower for wonderful panoramic views of the wetland habitats.

3.30pm - We could take a small break here and then split up going back to our favourite spots for more photos to meet back at the point we left.

4.15pm - We can discuss how it all went, share some snaps and possibly continue to a pub if there is one nearby to finish the day.

5.00pm or thereabouts - Head home.

Apart from that, looks set to be a nice day out, see you there!

Kind regards,

Christian & Mandar
