We are delighted to announce the fourth exhibition in the Jerwood
Encounters Series:
INSCRIPTION: drawing, making, thinking
13 January - 21 February 2010
An exhibition of work by three contemporary artists who each use mark
making as a way of recording, developing and communicating ideas.
Curated by Amanda Game and Anita Taylor, INSCRIPTION: drawing,
making, thinking explores the different approaches to inscription
through three contemporary artists, David Connearn, Philip Eglin and
Charlotte Hodes.
The exhibition will include drawings, ceramics, working samples, text
and moving image. As well as exhibiting his finished works, Philip
Eglin will be re-creating his studio wall in the gallery (images
attached).

With an emphasis on young and emerging artists, this striking 2,600 sq-ft exhibition space focuses on Jerwood Visual Arts, complemented by a regular showcase of new work in the Café, the Art Walls in the Courtyard and Don Brown’s eponymous sculpture overlooking the Glasshouse.
