Description
Completing our spring season of Book Club events, we focus on Ian McEwan's On Chesil Beach, a novella about the first tentative steps into marriage for a couple during the pre-liberation 1960s. Acutely perceptive about the nature of relationships, the book focuses on time and place, love and communication in minute detail. Ian McEwan is one of the UK's best known novelists, who won the Booker Prize in 1998 for his novel Amsterdam.
