Fuse : Be there, be inspired

Sunday 25 July 2010
12 noon till 7 p.m.
Lancaster Walk, Kensington Gardens
Free
Designed for and by young people aged 13 – 21

With exactly two years to go our Olympic countdown celebrations continue with FUSE, an extraordinary arts event for young people. Organised by the Royal Parks, in partnership with Westminster City Council and the Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea, thirty-five local arts organisations have been invited to showcase the wealth of creative ways in which young people take part and get involved in dance, music, theatre, spoken word and the visual arts.

If you’re aged between thirteen and twenty-one, Fuse is a chance to try something new, show off, sign-up, act-up or just watch and enjoy. Three stages including the impressive inflatable ‘bubble’ commissioned Up Projects will host theatre, music and dance performances. You can also try out free workshops including computer animation, play writing, theatre performance, film making, steel-drumming and much much more. Young people from DreamArts, facilitated by Audiences London have assisted the Royal Parks develop the day’s activities and content to ensure the day is relevant and appealing.

Participating organisations confirmed so far include: Tate, English National Ballet, V&A, Serpentine Gallery, Union Dance, Theatre Royal Haymarket, The Poetry Society, Soho Theatre, Vital Regeneration - FreqOut, Jermyn Street Theatre, DreamArts, BAFTA, Digital Media Unit, ChinaTown Arts Space , RealDeal Theatre, London Transport Museum, Royal Albert Hall, The Photographers' Gallery, Flat Feet Dance Company, Sing London, University of the Arts London, London Youth Gospel Choir, Mousetrap Theatre Projects , Ebony Steel Band, Candoco Dance Company and Volunteer Centre Westminster
