Description

Free Regional workshops on using CHOICE career/course finder web tool for young people

Background: The CHOICE website (www.myCHOICElondon.co.uk) is an online resource for young people, aged 14-19, to help them find jobs and courses. It includes tools such as Jobs Live, CV Builder, Courses and Careers advice. When the pan-London eProspectus relaunched last year many of the attendees who use it regularly to help young people make course and career decisions said they could have done with more time to see and try out the new functionality.

For the launch of Version 4, CHOICE are holding a series of free regional stakeholder workshop events across London to give attendees a focused and time-effective way to stay up to date with the latest online tools.

Target group: Connexions PAs, Careers Advisers, Teachers, youth workers and other professionals and volunteers working with young people aged 14-19.

Learning Outcomes:
·an overview of where the Choice site sits in the current 14-19 landscape

·an understanding of the new and improved functionality, including ‘Choice Jobs’, through which young people in London can access job vacancies and apply for apprenticeships.
